Advocacy Work is Diverse and Powerful
Through partnerships with sister organizations like the Parent Coalition For Child Safety and Wellness (PC) we advocate for change at the local, state, and federal levels to address core systemic issues and safety gaps for children and families. Advocacy work seeks to change the rules so fewer people are harmed in the first place. Advocacy helps people recover their power by turning experiences of hardship, abuse, or marginalization into active self-expression, rights protection, and systemic change.
The Power of Advocacy
Advocacy Increases Connection: This work shines light on issues that are often hidden in darkness and can lead to feelings of shame, isolation and disconnection. Sharing the vision and approach inspires connection, partnerships and community building which can propel the mission and attract volunteers, donors, and partnerships.
Advocacy Decreases Stigma: Sharing the truth about systems and the way they work, helps protect those affected from the added harms resulting from stigma and isolation.
Advocacy Restores Power: Empowers those who have been silenced or suppressed to recover their voice, speak the truth, and share their stories to create change.
